As 2015 comes to a close, we’d like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for all of your contributions to Udemy. Whether you’re thinking about a topic for your first course or answering a discussion post, your impact on our platform is appreciated by students as well as the Udemy team.
With 2016 just around the corner, we’re also incredibly excited to share some of the themes we’ll be working on next year.
- Student Feedback. Everyday, we strive to make Udemy the best place for students to learn online. Student feedback can improve courses, inform product decisions, and shape the holistic student experience on Udemy. In the upcoming months, we are focusing on initiatives to collect and share authentic, helpful feedback for both new and existing courses. We’ll continue to focus on helping students meet their learning objectives. We’ve also been incorporating student responses in the redesign of the student course taking experience to help students better learn the material that you’ve worked so hard to create.
- The Instructor Experience. We also want Udemy to be the best place for instructors to teach online. That means providing useful tools to engage with students and with the Udemy team. It also means ensuring a reliable, consistent, and easy to navigate experience on the platform. We hope to delight you with some changes to the instructor experience that are a long time coming.
- Marketplace Excellence. Udemy experienced amazing growth over the past year! We saw 15,000 new courses hit in the marketplace, many of them published by our nearly 6,000 new instructors. We also had over 3 million new students join our site. To achieve our mission of helping anyone learn anything, we’ll continue to address topics that touch all marketplace contributors – such as course quality, pricing, brand impact, the course catalogue (and more!) both in U.S. and international markets.
If you have any questions or comments, please share your thoughts in the Udemy Studio. We have a tremendous amount to be grateful for from the past year, and can’t wait to get started on all our 2016 plans.
Best wishes for a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season!
