News & Updates
You may think it’s been quiet on the product front lately, but we’ve been working on a number of projects and we can’t wait to share more details with you soon! For now, here’s a sneak peek:
- Video Player Beta Test: We’re currently testing a new and improved video player design. When we roll out the new player across the site, we’ll let you know and share further insight into the test results.
- Teaching Tab: We want to provide you with a quick snapshot of how your courses are performing. The revamped My Courses –> Teaching page will become your one stop shop to view your total revenue, total students, and top 5 student countries, among other things!
- Student Course Taking Experience: We have a number of projects in the works intended to improve and enhance the student course taking experience. These include a revamped quiz feature and new ways to incorporate student exercises, in addition to some other fun stuff. We’ll update you with more details as we get closer to launching
Udemy HQ Closed July 3
Udemy’s office will be closed on July 3 in observance of a U.S. holiday. We’ll have limited Support and Review staff working on Friday and through the weekend, so please keep in mind response times may be slower than usual.
In the Community
Course Creation Camp has been a resounding success – 284 instructors joined us for camp in the English community and 31 instructors in our Spanish community! Next week we’ll be announcing our camp champions as well as sharing some great examples of “tasks” completed by the participants.
If you missed out on camp but are ready to start creating your course, you can still use the camp schedule to help structure and guide your own course creation journey. Although the deadlines have passed, feel free to post any of the tasks to the Udemy Studio or How To course discussion board for feedback from Udemy’s Instructor Team as well as from your fellow instructors.
