Email notifications for course discussions will now arrive in the form of a “daily digest” – a single summary of all your course discussion posts from the last day. This can be particularly useful if you’re teaching numerous courses or just tend to get a lot of student discussion posts!
Our Trust & Safety team has recently updated their article on course materials to better clarify when and how you can share your website, contact info, and social media pages.

We’re running a small scale test to help students further streamline their browsing experience by using topic tags. The topic tags will appear as a filter when students search or click through to a sub-category page (note only a small percentage of students have been included in the current test). For the test, we’ve added tags to most courses in our top 16 sub-categories. Depending on the results of the experiment, we will continue to expand this project. We’ll keep you updated!
Notes on the Black Friday Sale
There have been some questions from the community about what instructors should do to prepare for our Black Friday promotion. Here are the important things to remember:
- You must be opted into our Fixed Price Deals program in order for your courses to be included in the sale. You can change your marketing permissions in the premium instructor section of your account. Go here to view or edit your permissions now.
- If you’re an existing instructor who is currently opted out of Fixed Price Deals but would like to be included in this particular sale, you must opt in by November 9.
- Any new courses must be approved and live by November 13. If you’re a new instructor publishing for the first time, you must be opted in to Fixed Price Deals before your course goes live.
- If you’ve opted in, we ask that for the duration of the promotion you don’t change your course list price. If you do change your course price, there may be delay before it’s accurately reflected on mobile.
